During my visit in Phuket, Sugar Marina Art Hotel is what I called home away from home. Art installation and display are very visible within the area I guess this what set’s them apart from the other Sugar Marnina Hotel properties, not to mention all these art are done by their in-house artist accompanied by their staff.

Across the lobby, you’ll see the spotless marble tile indicating that this is a well maintained and kept hotel. I was greeted with a warm smile from the front staff. I must say that the staff are well trained, attentive and speak English well, this is one important factor I normally consider when choosing a hotel.

Upon reaching my room I was amazed how clean and well decorated my room is. This is a perfect example of a room that has basic facility but you have everything what you need inside, which means good for the family even solo traveler. The room is big enough to accommodate 4 people or perhaps 2 adults, 2 kids below12 yrs old.

The wall is painted in gray and white which gives a homey and luxurious vibe and a large glass sliding door which leads you to the balcony. A queen size bed just for myself with crisp linen sheets.

Across my bed is a sofa and a huge portrait of a sailboat battling the sea current. A can of Coke, Beer, juice, two bottled water and a sneaker bar inside my mini bar which is refillable and free of charge for the entire stay. Tea and coffee facility is also complimentary.

Freshly folded bath and beach towels, laundry bag, blower and safe is also present with a pair of beach sleepers.

The bathroom is provided with shampoo, soap, cotton buds and equipped with a rain shower with unlimited supply of hot water. Don’t forget to bring your toothbrush and toothpaste. I really admire the thought that the management has considered the needs of their guest. They have fast internet but requires you to log in again everytime you need to connect.

I was able to use their swimming pool and met other guests and make friends. Shout out to this little pumpkin Poppy and her parents Billie and Matt from Australia. She’s really charming and smart for a 4-year-old kid.

Outside my hotel is the street filled with massage parlors and spas and travel agencies offering tour packages for Phi Phi island, Big Buddha and other tours. Across my hotel is a more relaxing and peaceful Karon Beach with a view of the mountain. Compared to Patong beach which is always busy and packed with tourist and vendors. If you want a place that is relaxing not far away from the main area then this is your hotel.

The Sugar Marina Art hotel is a 4* deluxe property suitable for family, couples and solo travelers.
